Sizing Guide

Size by weight and length, not by age.

The range across the whole line is 6 to 45 lb — 2.7 to 20 kg — up to 44 in / 112 cm. Gowns go to 24 lb (10.9 kg). Bodysuits start at 16 lb (7.3 kg). Every chart below gives both US and metric units.

The sizes below carry the names baby clothing always carries. Those names are labels. The two numbers that matter are your child's weight and length.

Every garment is cut generously to clear dressings, central line exit sites, and G/J tube buttons without constriction. If your child is between sizes, or wears a dressing, size up.

Three children with feeding tubes, each wearing a garment size well below their age size: a twelve-month-old in 3-6M, a seventeen-month-old in 6-9M, and a two-and-a-half-year-old in 12-18M. Across eight children the median was 41 percent of their age size.

The two numbers

Weight. The number from the last appointment.

Length. Lay your child flat and measure head to heel. Standing height works just as well once they are standing.

These two will not always agree. When they point at different sizes, take the larger one.

Sizing notes

  • Between sizes, wearing a dressing, or unsure? Size up.
  • For a bodysuit, torso length decides the fit. If your child is long through the body, or carries fullness at the abdomen, size up — the snaps at the bottom are what give way first. A gown has an open bottom and is far more forgiving.
  • Ignore the size name. A child who wears 6–9M at eighteen months should order 6–9M. The label is a label.
  • If your child falls in different sizes for weight and length, choose the larger size.
  • Sleeves clear an arm dressing. Because Dual Arm Access™ opens along the inner bend, a PICC or IV dressing never needs the sleeve pushed up over it — size for the child, not for the dressing.
  • Every garment opens completely flat for dressing. Nothing passes over the head.
  • 100% pre-shrunk cotton, so sizing holds after repeated washing.
