Pay with HSA or FSA
Adaptive clothing for a child with a feeding tube or a central line may be eligible for HSA or FSA reimbursement.
If it is, a $59 garment can cost you closer to $38 in real terms — without us changing the price.
How it works
At checkout you will see an option to pay with your HSA or FSA card. Choosing it starts a short, private questionnaire from Truemed, our HSA and FSA partner.
A licensed clinician reviews your answers. If your purchase qualifies, Truemed issues a Letter of Medical Necessity and an itemised receipt — usually within 24 hours. That letter is what makes the purchase eligible under IRS rules.
You pay with your HSA or FSA card at checkout, the same as any other card. There is no reimbursement form to chase afterwards.
Why clothing can qualify
The IRS allows HSA and FSA funds to be used for expenses that treat or alleviate a medical condition, not only for prescriptions and devices.
Ordinary children's clothing is a personal expense and does not qualify. Adaptive clothing designed around a feeding tube or a central line can, when a licensed clinician determines it is medically necessary for that child. That determination is what the Letter of Medical Necessity records.
We do not make that decision, and neither does Truemed. A clinician does.

The questionnaire asks about the medical condition the garment addresses. You are answering on behalf of your child; the account holder is you.
Questions we are asked
Is my purchase guaranteed to qualify?
No. A licensed clinician reviews each request individually. If your purchase does not qualify, you can still complete it with an ordinary card.
Does this mean PediaTech garments are medical devices?
No. Our garments are textiles, not medical devices. HSA and FSA eligibility runs on the IRS definition of medical care, which is a different thing entirely from FDA classification. No prescription is required.
What if I do not have an HSA or FSA?
Checkout works exactly as normal with any card. Nothing changes.
Can I use this on a wholesale or hospital order?
No. HSA and FSA funds are for individual and family purchases. For institutional ordering, see our hospital and distributor information.
Does using FSA funds change my return options?
No. Our standard returns policy applies.
December matters
Most FSA funds expire at the end of the plan year. If you have a balance and a child who needs adaptive clothing, it is worth using before it disappears.
